The U12 and U14 teams had a novelty fun day in Strand Road on Sunday last. They had a great day playing different games including tug of war, novelty cross bar challenge and more besides. Senior Football

Co. League Division 1 Kerins O’Rahillys 0-11 Finuge 0-14

We played Finuge last Saturday evening in Lixnaw in a back game of the Co. League. Though short a lot of players we were well in the game until the last ten minutes when Finuge hit a purple patch and put over four rapid points to give them victory. The team though quite young gave a good account of themselves and performed quite well and gave it everything on the night.

We had good possession in the first half with points from Declan Quill five from frees and play and the 6th from mid fielder Sean Walsh from a 45 leaving the half time score at Kerins O’Rahillys 0-06 to Finuge’s 0-07.

The second half saw both sides’ trade points with John O Connor, Declan Quill, Rory Molloy and Kevin Walsh getting the minors to leave the score at Kerins O’Rahillys 0-09 to Finuge’s 0-11 at the 50th minute and although we had a point from John C O Connor Finuge finished with a flurry of points to leave them winners by 0-14 to Kerins O’Rahillys 0-11.

We had good performances from C O’Connell, Martin Tierney, David Murphy, Cian Foley, Mitchell Donnelly, Greg O Connell, Kevin Walsh, John Ferguson, Pádraig Griffin, Rory Molloy, Sean Walsh, John O Connor and Man of the Match Declan Quill. Next game is Round 9 of the Co League on Saturday next the 16th at 7pm away to Listowel Emmets.
