Christmas and New-year Wishes
Everyone on the Senior, Juvenile and Ladies Committees at Kerins O’Rahillys would like to wish our Players, Members, Supporters and especially all of our Volunteers “without whom none of it would be possible” a very Happy, Peaceful and Healthy New Year both on and off the pitch.

Juveniles

Our Juvenile Awards and Medal presentation took place on December 28th and was very well attended. Awards presented at U12 were Most Dedicated to Jerome Daly, Most Improved to Stephen Nix and Player of the year went to a very deserving Seán Murphy. U14 awards went to Jordan Foley for Most Dedicated Player, Rian McLysacht for Most Improved Player and Dominic Lyons was awarded player of the year for his all round performance, dedication and his involvement on development squads.

The U16 team were presented with their medals and most improved player went to Andrew Philips and Player of the year was awarded to very popular choice Tom Hoare. All awards and medals were presented on the night by Cormac Coffey, Barry John Keane, David Moran and Tommy Walsh. Chairman Dinny O’Connor thanked everyone for attending, thanked all of the mentors, players and parents for their dedication to the club over the year gone by and said that he looked forward to working with them in the year ahead. He gave special mention to Edmond and Jonathon Lyons who is always available to lend a hand to all teams.

Indoor Training

Indoor training starts back this Wednesday January the 7th in CBS The Green school hall. U12s and 14s train from 5.30-6.30. U16s train from 6.30-7.30. Entry via new entrance on Dan Spring Road at traffic lights.

Senior Football

Senior Town Championship Semi-final replay was cancelled with agreement of both clubs and the Town Board. It is now refixed for Saturday the 17th of January at 7pm in the John Mitchels complex. The final is fixed for Sunday 31st at 2pm in Ballymac.

Well Done

Well done to Cormac Coffey and Jack Savage who both played with the KerryU21s in round 1 of the Hastings Cup against Roscommon on Saturday last. The game ended in a draw. Round 2 is against Cavan on Saturday next at 2pm in Emo outside Portlaoise.

Kerins O’Rahillys 10K

The 1st of February is a definite date to mark in the diaries. It is the day of the Kerins O’Rahillys 10K run. The run kicks off a great day of sport in the county with Kerry playing Mayo on the same day. Runners and walkers of all standards are welcome to take part and will be presented with a unique medal to mark the occasion. GAA clubs are also invited to enter a team of runners with the first 3 home to count for their club. The GAA club winners will receive the John Dowling Perpetual Trophy which will be keenly contested. The race starts for walkers at 9.30am and for runners at 10am. Further information in the coming weeks.

Ladies Football

Kerins O’Rahillys Ladies AGM will take place on Friday the 9th of January at 7pm sharp in the Bistro at the club. The girls awards night follows at 8pm.

Congratulations

We would like to congratulate the following who got engaged over the holidays. Linda Gleeson who manages our U12 Girls got engaged to Brendan Daly, former Chairman Sean Kissane got engaged to Margaret Brick and Josh O’Sullivan got engaged to Aimee Fogarty. Best wishes to all.
Congratulations to Castlegregory CLG Club who recently celebrated their 125th Anniversary. Well done to all on what was a wonderful occasion.

Birthday Wishes

Birthday wishes this week go to Aoife O’Connor U12 Girls, Seán Murphy U14 Boys, Luke O’Brien U6 Boys, TJ Heapy U12 Boys and Adam O’Connor U12 Boys. Enjoy your Birthdays!

Lotto

The Lotto takes place in Charlie’s Bar every Monday. The Lotto results for Monday the 22nd of December were 1, 16, 23, and 24. There was no jackpot winner; the next jackpot will be €8,300. There were 3 match 3 winners. They were Dylan, Adam and Jonathon c/o Fred, Margaret Crean c/o Mrs O’Brien and Oliver Molloy c/o Dolly. The 5 entrants for the December Draw were Edmond Quirke c/o shop, James Hussey c/o Ann, Tony Flavin Ashgrove, Joan O’Leary O’Rahillys Villas and S Griffin c/o Lillian.

The December draw took place and the following four people each won €250. Mike Quirke c/o Lillian, Josie Browne c/o Fred, J Sweeney Balloonagh and Nora Kelly c/o Mrs O’Brien. The Lotto results for Monday the 29th of December were 6, 20, 22, and 23. There was no jackpot winner; the next jackpot will be €8,400. There was 1 match 3 winner. That was Seamus Hoare Knockmoyle DD. The 5 entrants for the December Draw 2015 were Mark O’Brien c/o Philip, D O’Brien Hayes Shop, Annette, Dad Mom c/o Ann, Karen and Haden c/o Ann and Sonny and Ann c/o Ann.

To play the Kerins O’Rahillys Lotto, four numbers are selected from 1 to 28. If anybody matches the four numbers selected on the night he/she wins the Jackpot. Match three numbers to win €25. Tickets cost €2 each. The Kerins O’Rahillys Lotto can also be played online at www.korgaa.com
Lotto Sellers The club needs lotto ticket sellers. It can be worth your while. If you are interested contact any member of the Senior Committee.

Cards

Whist drive is back in the Club on Thursday nights. Join in from 8.30 on.

Pilates Classes

Do you want to improve your flexibility? Do you suffer from back, neck or hip pain? Do you want to improve your strength and tone up? Well look no further “Pilates Classes” are coming to Kerins O’Rahillys on Tuesday evenings. Pregnancy classes at 6pm and Pilates for Fitness at 7pm. Charlie’s Bar

Club Lotto on takes place in the bar every Monday night with a special in house raffle if you are present so why not pop along. Why not treat yourself to lunch in Charlie’s. There’s something to please everyone. Weightwatchers takes place in the Healy Room every Thursday and have now changed to “winter” times. Classes now take place at 9.30am, 12.30 and 6.30pm. The Active Retired Coffee Morning Group meets every Tuesday morning in Charlie’s. Come along and keep in touch with old friends and make new friends. All welcome. “Dance for Fun” is back on Wednesday nights. All welcome. We have many different size function rooms and cater to all types of functions.
