THE Arts Officer with Kerry County Council is urging artists and arts groups to get their Arts Grants application in now for projects and activities taking place in 2021.

The closing date for receipt of applications is 1pm Thursday 17th December 2020. “The Arts Act Grants provide funding to arts events and activities across the county every year,” said Kate Kennelly.

“Last year, more than 30 groups and artists were granted funding for a wide range of events in festivals, visual arts, music, drama and more. If you are planning an arts event or activity in 2021 don’t let this funding opportunity pass you by.”

Individual artists looking to develop their practice or further arts education or attend an artist’s retreat are encouraged to apply for the Artists’ Bursaries.

Schools are encouraged to team up with artists and apply for the Artists in Schools bursaries for arts projects within the school.

The Eamon Kelly Bursary is open to artists of all disciplines living or from the Killarney Municipal District, which includes the towns in and around Killarney, Farranfore, Rathmore and Gneeveguilla.

The applications forms are available on the Kerry County Council website.

The deadline is also approaching for the Artists in Residence panel. “We are delighted to add visual arts to the art forms included,” says Kate Kennelly.

“It joins music, literature, film and we hope to put together a panel of artists that will last four years. So, I strongly urge anyone who is interested in being an artist in residence to go to Kerry County Council’s website and download the brief from the arts section. The deadline is the 4th January 2021 at 1pm.”

The artists in residence  are co-funded by the Arts Council and supported by Creative Ireland Kerry. For additional information and support contact the Arts Office on 066 7183541 or email arts@kerrycoco.ie
