With the evenings closing in fast many people will be looking for a sporting and social pastime to pass away those long winter nights.

Why not consider the game of Badminton, which is proclaimed in the Guinness book of Records as the world’s fastest racquet sport?

This sport is played throughout the Kingdom of Kerry with the season typically running from September to May.

There are many clubs to choose from across the county all of which welcome new members:  Killarney, Castleisland (Kingdom), Listowel, Moyvane, Annascaul, Iveragh, Ballyheigue, Causeway, Ballyheigue and Ballybunion.

Contact details for the clubs can be found on http://kerrybadminton.ie. The Kerry Badminton Association also have a very strong juvenile section with most of the above clubs catering for juveniles, get in touch with your local club for more details.

The Annual General Meeting of the Kerry Badminton Association was held on the 27th of September and the board would like to thank committee members that stepped down for their past efforts and welcome on-board new members for the coming season.

Congratulations to Amanda Carmody (Moyvane) for her winning success in both doubles and mixed competition, Jeab Workman (Killarney) for winning her singles category and Sinead Galvin (Killarney) who was runner up in her singles and mixed categories with partner Tom Bourke (Kingdom).
