Kerry Film Festival To Host Premiere Of ‘Kilimanjaro Mama’ Documentary

THE world premiere of a documentary about a Tralee woman and how she transformed the lives of children in Africa will take place as part of the Kerry Film Festival this weekend.

‘Kilimanjaro Mama’ tells the story of Louise Quill, who created the Tír na nÓg orphanage in Tanzania through sheer determination, grit and more importantly, love.

Directed by Malcolm Willis and produced by Brian Hurley, the screening takes place in Killarney Cinema on Saturday, October 19 at 6pm.

The film crew led by award winning director Malcolm Willis from Killarney embarked on a journey to Kilimanjaro, Tanzania back in April, to capture the story of the orphanage set up in 2007.

There will also be a Q&A with Louise Quill, Malcolm Willis and Brian Hurley at the screening. For tickets to the screening click here

If you can’t make it to the Killarney, there will be a screening of the documentary in Siamsa Tire Tralee on November 21.
