CAMPAIGNERS  from Kerry travelled to Dublin to join people from all over the country to take part in the Global Day of Protest against 5G.

This peaceful protest commenced at 1pm outside the main gates of St Stephens Green and this was followed by a march down Grafton Street and then to the Dail.

“There was a lot of concern from the public with regard to 5G radiation exposure during this protest and information leaflets were distributed to concerned citizens,” said Mags O’Sullivan from Tralee who attended the event.

“Campaigners are worried about the impact 5G radiation exposure will have on public health, the environment and the planet as there are no scientific studies to prove it is safe,” added Mags.

There is already significant opposition to 5G in Ireland with 74 Stop 5G groups and pages on Facebook.

Mags O’Sullivan said “this protest was important to raise awareness about 5G and wireless radiation exposure and its associated risks to health, the environment and the planet. A large proportion of the population are unaware that 5G has already been rolled out in cities and towns across Ireland. Tthere is a lack of awareness of the dangers and risks associated with chronic wireless radiation exposure. There are over 10,000+ scientific studies including 3,700 peer reviewed studies proving biological and environmental harm from RF radiation so it is up to every person to perform their own risk assessment with regard to their own wireless radiation exposure and reduce their health risks accordingly”.

Mags questioned why the Irish Government has given telecom industries free rein to deploy 5G without any public consent, public consultation or impact assessment.
