Liam O’Connor And Brian Kennedy For Moyvane Concert Fundraiser

IN the run up to St Patrick’s Day, the people of Moyvane and the surrounding area are in for a musical treat when the Killarney musician Liam O’Connor brings his live show to the Church of the Assumption in the North Kerry village in early March.

The concert is the latest fundraising brainchild of local Parish Priest Father Kevin McNamara and his parishioners, who hope to build on recent successful concerts given by Phil Coulter, The Three Tenors; Michael English and Aonghus McAnally respectively.

The concert takes place at The Church of the Assumption Moyvane, on Tuesday. March 10 at 8pm. Tickets cost 25 Euro and are available from the local parish office by contacting (068 49308).

Liam O’Connor is a multi-instrumentalist musician, often referred to as “the Jimi Hendrix of the accordion”. His performance is an explosive collection of music, song and dance, rooted in the Irish Music tradition.

The show is infused with the powerhouse of Liam’s virtuoso accordion playing as he strides across the stage taking the accordion to new heights. Liam has played at numerous venues throughout the world including The Point, RDS, Dublin; Slane Castle; MGM Grand, Las Vegas; Radio City Music Hall, New York; Sydney Opera House, Australia; Wembley Arena, London and Sun City, South Africa, Rome, Italy and the Kremlin in Russia.

Also appearing on the night as special guest star is singer/songwriter Brian Kennedy. Brian Kennedy is long established as one of Ireland’s finest singers. After battling cancer in recent years Brian is back touring and bringing his talent and joy to audiences worldwide.
