Minister Announces €1.4m For Construction Of New Stretch Of Abbeydorney-Ballyduff Road

Funding has been announced for the ‘Dale Road’.

FUNDING has been announced this morning for construction of the R556 Rathscannell Road (Dale Road).

Minister Brendan Griffin said €1.4m will be allocated for the project which he predicts will see completion in 2021.

In a statement on his facebook page this morning, the Minister stated: “After a relatively brief time in the Department, I secured funding last year of €300,000 to get the R556 Rathscannell Road project moving after years and years of delay.

“Today, I am absolutely delighted to be announcing €1.4m to begin construction on the new road this year, with the remaining funding in 2021 to complete the project.”

Kerry County Council has closed that stretch of road to public traffic until further notice. The road is being closed for safety reasons and to permit the carrying out of remedial works.

  1. Signs up ROAD CLOSED, so why is it still open as it was today, total confusion, its worse now since hedgin was removed. Accident waitin to happen. Either its CLOSED ot IT’S NOT

    PS, is this a publicity stunt to gain votes few wks from election date. Ewhen election is over it prob be put on back burner again
