The Dale Road.
A PART of the main Tralee to Ballybunion Road, which has been closed for redevelopment since the summer of 2019, is expected to re-open next week.
The R556 Rathscannell or Dale Road — a 2km stretch of road between Abbeydorney and Ballyduff — may be re-opened on a temporary basis over Christmas pending an assessment this week, according to Kerry County Council.
There are two diversion routes operating for traffic in either direction since it closed two and a half years ago.
Work has been underway since August 2020 on the road which was built on bog and had seen subsidence over the years. It has also been the scene of many accidents.
