Senior Mens Co. League: Yesterday our Senior Mens Team hosted Glenflesk in Round 3 of the County League Division 2. The game was played in wet and blustery conditions and it was the visitors who settled best with the aid of the breeze and quickly went 4 points to nil ahead early on. Tomás Ó hAiniféin got Na Gaeil’s first point.

This was cancelled out by a Glenflesk point. Unfortunately then a mistake in defence saw Glenflesk add a goal to their tally which left them ahead by 7 points. Both teams added 2 points apiece before the break to leave the halftime score Na Gaeil 0-3, Glenflesk 1-7.

Glenflesk stretched their lead to 9 point early in the second half before Na Gaeil began to mount a comeback.

Two points from Dara Devine and one from Seán O’Connor reduced the deficit to 6 points. Glenflesk added a point of their own before two more Dara Devine scores cut the gap to 5 points with 8 minutes remaining.

Glenflesk however goaled from their next attack and despite two late points for Na Gaeil it was the visitors who took home the win. Final score: Na Gaeil 0-10, Glenflesk 2-10.

Team: John Kearney, Ruairí O’Sullivan, Niall O’Mahony, Jimi Ó Suilleabháin, Ryan O’Neill, Damien Bourke, Kieran O’Donovan, James O’Connor, Tomás Ó hAiniféin, Kian Sheehan, Kieran O’Connor, Seán O’Connor, Eoghan Daly, Dara Devine, Jack Bourke. Round 4 of the League will see our lads play Laune Rangers (away) on the weekend of April 23rd.

U16 Girls: Our u16 girls were so unlucky to lose to Moyvane/Duagh last Thursday night when a goal with the last kick of the game saw them beaten by just a single point in a very entertaining game. Final score: Moyvane Duagh 4-10, Na Gaeil 3-12.

U18 Girls: Good luck to our minor girls who are away to Beaufort tonight at 7.15pm

U11 Boys: Well done to our u11 team who played Kilcummin away last Thursday evening. Training again in Killeen next Sunday at 11am.

U15 Boys: U15 B team was out last Wednesday night against Laune Rangers in Killorglin. A real good game of football. We probably just got off to slower start but grew into the game as it went on. Final score was 4-6 to 0-11 but we won the second half strongly. Huge work rate across the field and the boys played really well as a team. Huge potential within this group.

U17 Boys: Our minor team played Glenflesk (away) in their final group game in the County League last Monday night and came away with a gutsy, hard-fought 2 point win.

Final score was Glenflesk 2-9, Na Gaeil 1-14. Tonight they are due to play Cordal/Scartaglen in a playoff game to decide first and second place in their County League group. Throw-in is at 6.30pm in Caherslee. All support would be greatly appreciated.
