Na GaeilScór Sinsear:

Congratulations to our very talented bailéad ghrúpa who were crowned county champions on Saturday night last at the county final of Scór Sinsear in Castleisland. Their rendition of ‘The Ballad of John Williams’ and ‘The Mad Lady and Me’ received tremendous applause from a very receptive audience.

They now go forward to represent Na Gaeil and Kerry in the Munster semi-final on February 20th in Kanturk, Cork. So congratulations to Therese Keating, Tracy Hurley, Rachel Moynihan, Pat Sheehy and Tim Lynch and we wish them the very best of Na Gaeil luck for the next stage of the competition.

Hard luck to Sorcha Ó’Súilleabháin and Máire Éilis Ó’Conchúir who both did Na Gaeil proud in the recitation and solo singing and were unlucky not to progress to the next round. A big thank you to Seán and all at Na Gaeil for the great reception afterwards in the club.

Minors:

Our scheduled Town Board league game v Austin Stacks had to be rescheduled due to unplayable pitches at both clubs. Game to be refixed at a later date. We will play Kerins O Rahillys next weekend. We will play division 2 of the county league with our first game away to Laune Rangers on Feb 20th.

The lads have busy schedules but are putting in good efforts to train with the club for these upcoming games. Registration forms need to be completed and back to mentors ASAP please.

We may have secured sponsorship for tops and skinny pants so watch this space. Leahys Pharmacy in Oakpark have already committed to the team for our new set of jerseys. Please support our sponsors.

Under 14:

We had a terrific turnout of over 24 boys training in windy conditions on Sunday evening last with just a little rain near the end of the session. It was great to see all of last year players plus a few others strutting their stuff for the Na Gaeil club. Vetting and registration forms were handed out and should be returned to any U14 mentor ASAP please. Training again at the sports complex on Thursday at 5.45pm.

Under 10:

Our boys continue to train indoors in Tralee Sports Complex. We had another big turnout last Sunday. Thanks to John Hayes from the senior team who gave JJ a hand with the training.   Training again next Sunday at Tralee Sports Complex from 11am until noon.

Players are asked to bring €2 to cover the cost of the hall & please bring along your mouth-guard & a bottle of water too.  Just a reminder that all players need to be registered with the club. Registration will take place again next Sunday. The cost for under 10s is €40.

Under 8:

Training continued at the Tralee Sports Complex Astro Turf Facilities on Sunday last at 10 am. Once again there was an excellent turnout.  The weather was a bit chilly but we soon warmed up and had a great session practicing our skills  and finishing with a very competitive practice game.

Great performances from Nikita Hoare, Ryan Sheehy, Danny Kingston & Shane O’ Donnavan: Most improved players: Luke Gannon, and Fionan Collins. A big thank you to the inspirational Jack Barry Na Gaeil and Kerry footballer for his help and advice during the training session.

All parents should have received registration forms for the 2016 season .

Registration will take place next Sunday 14th of February at the Tralee Sports complex. All Players are asked to bring €2 to cover facility expenses also ensure you bring your water bottle & mouth-guards.

See you all next Sunday at Tralee complex 10am. Outdoor activities on Astro turf if weather conditions suitable so remember parents/guardians/spectators come prepared!!

THANKS:

A big thank you to outgoing PRO Theresa Kelliher for her fantastic work in promoting the club over the last three years. She was always available at the other end of the phone when the need arose and gave so generously of her time.

She continued on as PRO during the month of January until a new PRO was appointed which is much appreciated. Theresa has a lot to offer to the club and I’m sure she will stay involved in some capacity. The new Pro has big boots to fill.
