THEY came from all over the county to enjoy a fantastic night of dancing and fun at ‘Rise’ in Benners on Saturday night.
The night was organised by service users in Enable Ireland Tralee and was designed for people with physical and intellectual disabilities from all over the county, to get together and socialise in a safe club environment with their peers and have some fun.
It was really well attended with people from Listowel, Dingle, Killarney, Tralee and elsewhere hailing it as a huge success. On the night, the lighting was adjusted and the music a bit lower, while was also a chill-out area in case anyone felt overwhelmed.

One of those attending said she has epilepsy and found going to regular nightclubs difficult because of the flashing lights. But she brought ten friends with her on Saturday night and was able to spend the night on the dance floor without needing her sunglasses.
Others said they had an amazing time and wanted to know when the next one could be held. DJ for the night was Ray Stack and he was helped with the choice of tunes by some enthusiastic wannabe DJs.
Conagh Forbes of Enable Ireland Kerry Services helped organise the night and was delighted by its success.
She is hoping now that they can organise another night in the future and, with the help of businesses in the communuity, they might help transport adults with physical and mental disabilities from all part of the county to the next event. Scroll down for photos…
