WEEKS of preparation came to fruition for the Transition Year students at Mercy Mounthawk on Thursday evening when they staged the annual fashion show.
Taking the topical theme of ‘Barbie & Ken’, it sure caught the imagination of students and parents with hundreds of tickets sold for the event in the school gym.
There was great excitement as the students took to the runway for the opening dance to the strains of Aqua’s ‘Barbie Girl to great cheers from the audience.

The students showcased new designs from many shops including That’s Perfect Tralee, Paul Galvin’s collection from Dunnes Stores and Celsius menswear.
As always, there was a charity aspect to the show and this year the beneficiary is the Marie Keating Foundation.
The TY students really pulled out the stops and delivered a great show. Great credit is due to them, along with their teachers Ms Stacey O’Leary and Ms Mari Kearney (fashion show coordinators), Ms Molly Giltenane, Ms Emma Nolan, Ms Rachel O’Neill (music and dance teachers), Ms Sadhbh Brosnan (I.T teacher) and Ms Mairead Ryan (Art teacher).
