FOUR sold-out shows by Mercy Mounthawk students were received with wild enthusiasm by audiences at Siamsa Tíre as ‘Hairspray’ proved a huge success.
All the hard work of the past four months paid off with amazing acting, incredible singing and a professional production making this arguably the best show from the school to date.
The show was even brought to the attention of the writers of the music to ‘Hairspray’, Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman over in New York who sent this message…
With a cast of about 140, taking in students from all years, it was an exhausting but a satisfying spell for the cast and all involved in the school’s 18th production.
Directed by Tony Behan, he was delighted with how the shows went. “It’s been the best received show we’ve had so far. We’ve a very good crew here, an exceptional cast with brilliant choreographers and great set.”
A wonderful effort then. The only problem now is, how do you top it for next year? Scroll down for photos…
