THE sun shone for the large number of runners taking part in the Tralee Summer Solstice 10K Run which started in the Town Park on Thursday night.
It was a glorious evening for the event which was started back in 2005 by Jim McNeice. Just under 150 runners finished the race with Derek Griffin taking first in 33:52. He was followed by Donal White and David Kennedy.
The first woman home was Siobhan Daly is 41:16 with Marie McKenna in second and Esther Murphy third.
It was a well-supported event with runners coming from all over the county and north Cork to take part. A prize-giving event and barbecue in the Abbey Inn took place after the race. Scroll down for photos…
