THERE was a buzz of activity at the Inspired centre on Friary Lane on Wednesday as the members of the group held a fundraiser.

“We’re hosting a tea day for the Alzheimers Society of Ireland,” said Maree O’Connor of Inspired. ” The idea came from one of our participants, Sinead, and the whole ethos of Inspired is about getting out into the community but most of all helping out other community groups and charities.”

There was a steady stream of visitors from 12.30pm to 2pm and everyone really enjoyed the event.

Inspired is a community-based project that aims to develop the employment, education and personal development skills of adults with intellectual disabilities. Through a variety of the activities, they focus on the ability of the participants to become active citizens and so contribute to their local community.
