A KILLORGLIN lady said a prayer to her late mother this morning that she would win Best Dressed Lady at Listowel Race and her prayers were answered this afternoon.

Mary Kelleher from Killorglin, was announced as the McElligotts Honda Best Dressed Lady 2019 at Listowel Races Ladies Day in front of a large crowd of onlookers in brilliant sunshine.

Wearing a fitted mint green Tina Griffin dress with a matching Carol Kennelly headpiece (both Kerry designers), she wins a cheque for €3,000 and a Honda Civic for a year.

First runner up was Catherine Burke from Tralee, wearing an embellished blue jumpsuit from Joi Castleisland and she received a cheque for €1,000 and second runner up was Jozette Hartnett from Thurles, wearing an off the shoulder green dress with a crown styled headpiece from Hat Trick. She received a cheque for €500.

The winner of the McElligotts Honda Jazziest Headpiece was well-known florist Betty McGrath from Listowel, who wowed in a dramatic French Riviera style headpiece by Listowel Milliner Aoife Hannon.

The winners of the Most Stylish Selfie was shared between Sarah Murphy, Emer Lynch and Ian Moloney for their group selfie and they received a cheque for €300.

Ladies Day was judged by Celia Holman Lee and Marietta Doran and for the fifth year in a row generously sponsored by McElligotts Tralee and Honda Ireland.

Racing continues tomorrow, Saturday, September, the last day of the Harvest Festival. Racegoers can enjoy two major sporting events as post racing the All Ireland will be shown on the Big Screen and in the bars all over the course.  Definitely the best place after Croke Park to watch the Kerry Dublin game!
