AFTER a break of five years, staff from University Hospital Kerry will gather en masse for a wonderful social night out in early February and at the same time raise thousands of euro for a great cause.
Four years ago, 12 couples had spent months rehearsing to take to the stage for the second ‘Sickly Come Dancing’ organised by the University Hospital Kerry Sports & Social Club, but just two weeks before the event, COVID struck and the country shut down.
Now the club has decided to organise ‘Sickly Come Dancing — The Relapse’ which will take place at Ballygarry Estate on Friday, February 2.

The club’s previous events — Sickly Come Dancing 2018 and UHK Got Talent 2019 — were fantastic occasions for the staff of the hospital to get together in a social setting, so it’s no wonder tickets have been sold out for weeks.
There are 11 couples, all hospital staff, who have been practicing with choreographer Honor Hurley and they are set to deliver a super show for their colleagues. This year all money raised is going towards the Friends of University Hospital Kerry.
The MC for the night will be Tim Moynihan, and judges tasked with choosing the best movers are Cllr Deirdre Ferris, Mary Gardiner, Oliver Hurley and Derry Fleming. Meet the contestants below…
