CHRISTY Leahy Park was buzzing on Saturday as a massive soccer tournament took place to raise funds for BUMBLEance.

St Brendan’s Park FC hosted the event for U11/12 teams from all over the county and in Cork, Clare and Limerick, at their pitches in Cahermoneen and despite a few showers and a bit of a breeze, the weather mostly played ball for the duration

Mike McCannon of Park FC, one of the organisers of the event, was very happy with the turnout and how the day panned out.

“We’re delighted, there’s about 320 players out there today from 14 clubs. It’s for a great cause too and a chance to showcase our facilities here. We’d like to thank the volunteers that have come in to make this all possible. A wonderful day and a huge success for a great cause. Many local businesses contributed spot prizes which is fantastic as well,” said Mike.

A Limerick side were the victors in both the U11 and U12 categories.
