THE junior infants at two town centre schools were well settled in when we called to take photos on Thursday morning.
Pupils from Presentation Primary and Moyderwell Mercy began their first days of school the day before and it all went very smoothly.
Presentation welcomed in 38 new boys and girls, while in Moyderwell nearby there were 52 new pupils donning the uniform.
“They settled down very well straight away yesterday,” said teacher, Maria Foley, of Presentation school.

“They seemed to have fun, they’re a great bunch and are happy out. The fact they’ve been to playschool before helps as when they come in, they know what to do and how to play with each other. A seamless transition and happy children,” said Maria.
It was a similar story in Moyderwell Mercy with young pupils settling into their new surroundings. They were really happy too in Ms Daly and Ms Ryan’s classes, smiling for the cameras as they played. Scroll down for photos…
