OVER 300 post-primary students from across the Diocese of Kerry gathered for a celebration day in the Brandon Hotel.
Fifteen schools were represented, including Presentation Secondary and CBS The Green form Tralee, to participate in ‘Ceiliúradh na nÓg.’
The purpose of this initiative is to develop the faith life of Transition and Fifth year students. This was achieved through school or parish based initiatives. Ceiliúradh na nÓg forms part of a comprehensive approach to Youth Ministry initiated by the Diocese of Kerry.

Former professional footballer Fr. Philip Mulryne was the guest speaker, while students also gave a three minute presentation on their projects and were interviewed by Deirdre Walsh of Radio Kerry. They were presented with a certificate of participation by Bishop Ray Browne.
The day — organised by Tomás Kenny, Post-Primary Diocesan Advisor for Religious Education — also included a variety of faith based workshops including presentations from the Diocesan Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation Group, Trócaire and Siamsa Tíre.
There was music, dance and fun games facilitated by Tommy Maloney and the Kerry Diocesan Youth Service. There wasl also be sessions on Christian Meditation, Christian Mindfulness and Scripture. Scroll down for photos…
