OVER 300 runners took to the roads of Tralee on Sunday morning for the Tralee Half-Marathon.
The race started from outside Clifford’s Cash and Carry at 9am and led the participants on a route taking in the Spa, out to Ardfert and back to town finishing at Neil Armstrong Way in the Town Park where a big crowd at gathered to welcome them home.
Tralee man Derek Griffin was first home in 1:13:36 followed by Andrew Nevin and Aoife Cooke. Race Director, Jim McNiece was delighted with how the day went.

“The race was sold out for the past two weeks but we were able to facilitate extra runners this morning at a reduced rate. We couldn’t have asked for better weather, it’s a beautiful day,” he said.
This was the final race in the Tralee race series which took in the 10k, 50k, 100k, Marathon and Half-Marathon runs throughout the year.
“It’s been a fantastic year, especially after COVID and there was great local representation. I want to thank everyone who helped today, including The Huddle Bar who opened up this morning so participants could use the facilities,” added Jim. Scroll down for photos…
