Presentation Girls Prepare To Put On ‘The Best Of Broadway’

PRESENTATION Tralee is delighted to announce the return of their recently revived school musical tradition with the staging of ‘The Best of Broadwa’ on April 19th and 20th in the school gym.

After last year’s phenomenal success, Pres are going bigger and better adding an extra matinee for local primary school children and an extra night-time performance for the general public.

‘The Best of Broadway’ is a musical journey through some of the most iconic Broadway shows of all time. From classic musicals like ‘Chicago’ and ‘The Wizard of Oz’ to modern hits like ‘High School Musical’ and ‘A Chorus Line,’ the show features some of the best-loved songs from the Broadway stage.

This year’s production promises to be a spectacular showcase of the talents of the school’s students, with incredible vocal performances, stunning choreography, and beautiful costumes.

The musical team have been working tirelessly for months to bring this show to life and are excited to share it with the local community. Students will sing in chorus and individually and there will be some marvellous dance routines courtesy of choreographer Honor Hurley.

“Up to 100 students have come together to bring the best of entertainment to the school gym which will be transformed into a theatre,” said Director Oliver Hurley who is very excited about this year’s production.  “These extremely talented students will enthral you in this song and dance spectacle.”

Principal Mairéad Finucane is also very enthusiastic about the upcoming show: “I must admit it is heart-warming to welcome receptive and appreciative members of our school community to fill our intimate yet soon to be transformed school gym to savour and enjoy the talents and efforts of our students. It is a great opportunity to showcase their passion for music and drama. We are so proud of their hard work and dedication and can’t wait for the audience to experience their amazing performances.”

The show is open to the entire  community, as well as family and friends, and is a great way to come together and enjoy an evening of entertainment. The production also serves as an important learning experience for the students, teaching them the value of teamwork, discipline, and creative expression.

Tickets for the show are available for purchase at the school office for €12 for adults and €10 for students. Tickets are in high demand, so members of the public are encouraged to purchase tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
