A FUNDRAISER held earlier this year resulted in much-needed funds winging its way to a local day-care centre.

Back in July, Tralee RFC held a gala World Cup Preview event in a marquee at O’Dowd Park which was attended by over 300 guests. The event was a fundraiser for the club raising around €20,000, but there was also a charity aspect to the night.

An auction was held and Ronan Deasy of Kerry Group’s bid for a signed Ireland, Munster and La Rochelle jersey was successful.  However, Ronan immediately put the jersey up back for action again, with €2,000 raised going towards Baile Mhuire Day Care Centre.

Ronan was at Baile Mhuire on Wednesday to present the funds on behalf of Kerry Group. Paddy Garvey of Baile Mhuire expressed his gratitude to Kerry Group for the donation.

“We want to thank Ronan and Kerry Group for the generous donation towards our services here in Baile Mhuire. We’re very lucky to have such support in the community and without them we would not be able to keep our services going.”
