Now the heavy rain and strong winds have passed, we can concentrate on better weather and the things to see and do at the Festival today…

1. Farmers Market…

The market moves from its normal location at the Brandon Car Park to the Island of Geese for Saturday where all your traditional Saturday stalls will be there along with entertainment and workshops. Be sure to call down between 9am and 3pm.

2. Browse and buy in town centre…

While yesterday was pretty much a washout, you’ll be able to comfortably browse through the stalls today at the Festival Food and Craft stalls in the town centre. The aromas from the many food vendors are certain to tempt you.

3. Loads of fun in the Park…

From 10am to 6pm, the Town Park once again comes to life with a host of activities for all the family. Join Tralee Tidy Towns at 2pm for a guided walk of the Tralee Heritage Trail by Mike Lynch & Don Nolan. Booking essential at tidytownstralee@gmail.com (Old Oak Tree).

Other highlights are the Rose Garden Party with bouncy castles, while there will be loads of food and refreshments stands there.

4. Meet the emergency services…

The Emergency Service Open Day returns once again on Denny Street where An Garda Síochána Tralee coordinates a showcase of all local state and voluntary emergency organisations.

5. An afternoon of entertainment…

If you’re in The Square during the day there’s plenty to entertain you. The Monsieur Gusto Circus Show takes place at 1.15pm and 3pm in The Square, described as “the most amazing Juggling Escapologist sensation you’ll have ever seen”.  Music in The Square comes from Mike Wagner at 5pm and the Eileen Cronin Duo at 5.45pm.

.

6. Experience the ‘Parade of Light’…

It’s always a major highlight and with the weather set to stay dry, thousands are expected to line Castle Street and Denny Street for the annual parade.

The bands and Rose-filled floats will make their way from John Joe Sheehy Road at about 8.30pm winding up Boherbee and making their way to the Denny Street Stage, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display.

7. Rock out on Denny Street and the Square…

Saturday night will see some great music on both the Denny Street and Square stages. An Ed Sheehan tribute act will play on the Denny Street stage from 8pm to 9pm, before the Roses make their way to the stage. He’ll also play a set there after the fireworks.

Meanwhile in The Square, local band Aftershock, who really rocked the stage at the same time last year, will entertain from 9.30pm to 11pm. Enjoy the fun!
