The Rose of Tralee Festival and Féile Thrá Lí both kick off today and there’s loads to see and do, despite the awful weather forecast…
1. Visit the Museum…
If you want to avoid the rain in the afternoon, you can delve through the decades and history of the Festival at the county museum which is also hosting ‘Gowns Of Glory’ with dresses throughout the decades on display (entrance via Tourist Office).
2. Browse and buy in town centre…
The Festival Food and Craft stalls return again this year to the town centre, so why not spend the morning looking through the stalls and choose lunch from the many different food vendors.

3. Circus fun…
With the weather set to take a turn for the worse in the afternoon, there won’t be a better time this weekend to head to Fossetts Circus on the Dan Spring Road. Shows at 3pm and 6pm.
4. Enjoy Town Parklife…
Use the Bike Park N Charge Station, bounce on the inflatables and enjoy the Busking & Bistro food at the Rose Garden Party from 10am to 6pm.
5. New Roses on the wall…
Bring the umbrella to see the unveiling of the new 2019-2022 Rose of Tralee participants on the new glass panel on the Rose Wall presented by Kerry County Council.

6. Island of Geese comes alive…
The Island of Geese makes its debut as a Festival/Féile venue this year and since it’s got its new cover, it’s likely to prove popular today when the rain comes.
Music Generation Kerry presents both their Junior & Senior String Ensemble from 5.45pm to 7pm.
Finally, Alchemy Arts presents the spectacular Fireflame fire show for all the family to enjoy at 9pm.
7. Music on Denny Street…
If you can brave the rain, there’s some great music to enjoy on Friday night. Local band Renovator will rock the Denny Street stage from 7.30pm to 9pm. After that, Tralee legends The Righteous Dudes will keep the party going until about 11pm.
