Six Things To See And Do Around Tralee This Weekend

It’s the last bank holiday weekend before Christmas so make the most of it! While Friday and Saturday are quiet enough, there’s a few more things to see and do around the town on Sunday…

Friday

1. Warriors battle Demons…

A timely fixture for the weekend as Garveys Tralee Warriors will battle UCC Demons at the Complex tonight.

They’ll be hoping the home crowd will spur them on after their loss on the road in Cork last weekend. Tip-off is at 7.30pm and tickets can be bought by clicking here.

Saturday

2. A petrifying Park Run!

Yes, it’s that time of the year again when the folks at the Park Run get into the spirit of Halloween. Expect vampires, witches, zombies and more at the Fancy Dress run from 9.30am at the usual spot in the Town Park.

Sunday

3. County final fever…

It’s the biggest day in the Kerry GAA club calendar and as always there’s great excitement for the Garvey’s SuperValu Senior Football Championship Final.

Favourites East Kerry will play Mid Kerry in the decider at Austin Stack Park at 2.15pm and there’s sure to be a great atmosphere in the county capital for the occasion to see stars like David and Paudie Clifford in action. Tickets are €20 and can be bought by clicking here.

4. Fire show fun…

A fire parade, fire show and fireworks display takes place in Denny Street between 6pm and 8pm to mark the end of An Turas Mór Homecoming Festival.

The event will present Haunted Projections (6pm) followed by some ‘Deadly Dancing’ for which families are invited to come all dressed up and get involved in the fun of the evening and maybe even winning some spot prizes for the scariest dressed or best Time Warp Dancer.

The Parade of Fire will kick off from the top of Denny Street before 7pm with Fire Performers and Dragon along with Kingdom Troopers & Drummers followed by a 30 minute Fire Show and the evening will culminate with a Fireworks Display over the Ashe Memorial Hall.

5. Ladies who launch…

The ladies from Johnny’s Cottage, Miriam Owens Moriarty, Breeda Hurley and Aine Callaghan, will launch their first book at a special launch in the Grand Hotel Denny Street Tralee at 7.30pm.

The ladies have amassed a following of over 30,000 fans on Facebook and now they have a delightful book where they share a compilation of family recipes, story-telling, and of course, a bit of craic. Head along on Sunday night and enjoy some fun with the ladies.

6. Go racing in Blennerville…

Whether you’re a club member or not, you’ll receive a warm welcome to Skelper Quanes, Blennerville, this Sunday night to the St Pats GAA Club Race Night beginning at 8pm sharp.

They will have a great night of racing finishing with an ‘Auction Race’ along with lots of prizes for Best Dressed Lady and Gent, spot prizes for winning owners, jockeys and trainers, a bumper raffle and more. There is also tote betting facilities on the night.
