The event will take place on Friday December 5th at the Ballyroe Heights Hotel. There will be a limited number of tickets for sale in the coming weeks and will be sold on a first come first served basis.

This year promises to be as good, if not better than last year which was a sellout! We hope to be in a position to announce our dancers next week so watch this space for more information on the event!

Juvenile Academy

Our academy had a very busy weekend with our under 6’s away to John Mitchels, our under 8’s away to Moyvane and the under 10’s had training with their coach Kieran O’Shea in Blennerville.

John Mitchels hosted both of our u 6 teams.  This was the final game of the year and the skill levels have greatly improved as displayed in both games. Jack, Luke, Michael, Stephen, Sharon, Ruan, Darragh, Keelin, Justin, Caolfhionn, Maeve, Mark, Amy Lee, Rory, & Robert played with great determination and commitment and certainly have shown great skills during the year.

Thanks to our friends in John Mitchels for the warm welcome and hospitality and well done to our future stars. Our U8’s travelled to Moyvane to play their last game of the season and in the beautiful October sunshine what a game they served up for their loyal followers who travelled the long distance to support them.

All our St Pats players played the full game and they all played with the heart, spirit and determination that is expect when they wear the St Pats jersey.

The game was played in a good competitive manner. It ebbed and flowed from end to end throughout the course of the 40 minutes. Our five backs performed brilliantly Jamie Lynch and Zach Howarth’s solid tackling and close marking stopped many Moyvane attacks in their tracks and so willing were our other backs Gráinne Breen, Thomas Sheehy and Diarmiud Waugh to help their team they all drafted forward at different stages to chip in for some vital scores.

Samuel Barrero and Joseph Laucher were on fire around the middle of the field. Their surging runs forward tormented our opponents defence all day long and they both got some fine scores.

Our forwards as well as scoring themselves worked their socks off for the team. Time and time again Fionn Diaro, Daniel Sheehy, Rory Kelleher and Killian took turns covering back to help out their teammates.

A special mention this week must go to Diarmuid Waugh who played despite only getting a few hours shut eyes having attended lreland’s win over Gibraltar in the Aviva on the evening before also a special thanks to Danny Greaney for giving us a hand during the game.

As the season is coming to an end this was a great performance by our future St Pats stars to finish off their season. The management team of Johnny Enright, Dipo Diaro and Conor Culloo are delighted and proud with the improvement of their skills each player has shown each week over the course of the year.

On Sunday next, our final academy session of the year will take place at 10.30am in Blennerville. Thanks to all the coaches, parents and everyone who helped during the year.  We will have refreshments for everyone on Sun morning and skills competitions for the players.

Seniors

Our senior team played Na Gaeil in the St Brendan’s Championship Semi Final last Saturday night in Killeen with the home team taking the spoils on a score-line of 0-20 to 1-11.

St Pats started brightly with an early goal from Gary Savage after a great incisive run by Adrian Greaney. However, Na Gaeil dominance in the 2nd and 3rd quarter essentially won the game for them. St Pats rallied to close the deficit in the second half and they had a golden opportunity to do so but Kieran Hurley’s penalty hit the post.

Na Gaeil were the better team on the day and we wish them luck in the final. Our seniors play Tarbert in the last game of the year in the CountyLeague. This has been provisionally fixed for Sunday November 9th.

Juniors

Our junior team will play the final of the Barrett Cup vs Beaufort this Saturday October 18th at 4:30pm. At the time of these notes going to print, the venue has yet to be decided. Please keep an eye on the club notes for further information on this fixture.

We wish Pat Foley, Kevin Quirke and the team the best of luck and we encourage as many members as possible to go and support the team next Saturday.

Blennerville National School

St. Brendan’s N. S. Blennerville wish to thank everyone who contributed old clothes to our collection last Friday. Our hall was completely full and it raised a hugely impressive €761.75 for the school! Thank you to parents and friends of the school for making it such a success.

Thanks to parent Maura O’Donnell who spoke to 3rd and 4th classes on how people managed without electricity long ago. This was part of our Energy Action day, for our new Green flag.

Thank you to Scott, who called to the school last week and donated 3 bags of spike/volleyballs to us. We really appreciate the kind gesture.

The school Halloween disco will take place on Friday 24th October in the Scout hall in the Garvey’s Supervalu car park, Tralee at 6pm. Witches, ghosts and all scary beings in costume are welcome! There will be a ‘dark disco’ until 8pm.
