Each run is a team event of four participants with the fastest three times accumulated to determine overall winner in three different categories: Male, Female and Mixed.

The event is chip timed, the courses are accurately measured and a medal and t shirt will be supplied for every participant.

Optimal Fitness Tralee’s chosen charity for the 5k/10k road race is MS Ireland,  (Kerry support services) to raise funds for MS support services and raise awareness.

More than 9,000 people are living with MS in Ireland which is the most common debilitating neurological condition affecting young adults here.

Optimal Fitness Tralee recognises the importance of daily exercise in the management of MS symptoms.  According to the National Center on Physical Activity and Disability: “In addition to improving overall health, cardiovascular fitness, range of motion, and flexibility, exercise can help one increase energy, improve balance, manage spasticity, decrease muscle atrophy, and better perform activities of daily living.”
