MERCY Mounthawk students are currently in the midst of a sell-out run of their latest production in Siamsa Tíre.
Around 70 students in all are involved in the cast an when we visited just before curtain-up on Wednesday night, they were busily preparing for the opening performance.
“We do a musical or play every year, and this year happens to be a musical one,” said Principal of Mercy Mounthawk, John O’Roarke, backstage in Siamsa.
“The team meet at the beginning of the year and they choose which show to put on. It’s wonderful to see it sell-out and shows the reputation the shows have built up over the years. It’s fantastic that people are supporting us,” he said.
Hundreds showed up to see the transition year students – with a mixture of students from other years – tread the boards and do director, Tony Behan proud.
We were there to take some images of the participants and the audience present.
