TRALEE Credit Union has teamed up with Top Part Kingdom Motor Factors to offer their members Free Breakdown Emergency Packs with their motor loans.

“The idea to give Breakdown Emergency Packs with our motor loans came from the Road Safety Authority’s Road Safety Strategy proposal to make these packs compulsory in all vehicles,” said Mike Lynch, Loans Officer.

“It’s our way of promoting responsible lending through road safety with our low rate motor loan campaign. We purchased these packs from Top Part Kingdom Motor Factors and are offering them to the first 100 members on collection of their motor loan to the value of €5,000 or more with us,” he said.

Each Emergency Pack consists of a first aid kit, fire extinguisher, warning triangle, high visibility vest, a lamp and gloves. For further information contact Tralee Credit Union in Tralee, Castleisland and Killorglin or visit their website www.traleecu.ie

There Was An End To Falling Petrol Prices But Where Is The Cheapest In Town?

Petrol_pump_mp3h0354THE price of petrol has risen fractionally over the course of a month, bringing an end to the trend of falling prices which we’ve seen since the beginning of the Summer.

Last month the cheapest price was €1.27.8 now it’s €1.28.8 in the town’s Applegreen stations in Manor Village and Fairies Cross.

Just behind Applegreen, as they were last month, are Inver on the Castlemaine Road with a price of €1.28.9, along with Esso Quill St, Texaco Oakpark and the new Top station in Caherslee. There are four stations with a price of €1.29.9.

Petrol Prices Fall Again But Where Is The Cheapest?

Petrol_pump_mp3h0354THE price of petrol has fallen again this month, but the sharp fall in prices since the Summer has cooled off a bit.

Last month the cheapest price was €1.29.8 now  it’s  €1.27.8 in the town’s Applegreen stations in Manor Village and Fairies Cross.

Just behind and only around the corner from Manor Village, is Inver on the Castlemaine Road with a price of €1.27.9.

There are five stations with a price of €1.28.9 and four at a price of €1.29.9. For the first time in a long time not showing a whole lot of disparity in the different prices that can be got around town.

Back in June the the lowest price in Tralee for a litre of petrol was €1.41.8. Though this represents a substantial drop in price, it still is higher on average than what petrol was going for at the beginning of the year. In Febuary, Traleetoday.ie recorded it as low as €1.26.8.

THERE’s good news motorists as petrol prices fell in town for the third month in a row in the past month.

Back in June the the lowest price in Tralee for a litre of petrol was €1.41.8, now you can fill up in Applegreen, Fairies Cross and Manor Village for as low as €1.29.8 per litre.

Though this represents a substantial drop in price, it still is higher on average than what petrol was going for at the beginning of the year. In Febuary, Traleetoday.ie recorded it as low as  €1.26.8.

Petrol Prices In Town Down 20c On This Time Last Year

Esso on the North Circular Road is the cheapest place to by petrol in town (as of Friday afternoon, January 2).

MOTORISTS in Tralee are enjoying petrol prices 20 cent cheaper on  this time last year, from €1.50 a litre to under €1.30.

As of Friday afternoon, the cheapest places to get petrol in town were Esso on the North Circular Road and Top at the Horan Centre with a price of €1.28.9.

The next best price is Applegreen €1.29.8, followed by the other Esso, O’Connor’s on Quill Street, Topaz in Manor, McElligotts Texaco and Amber and Inver which are all €1.29.9.

Topaz in Mounthawk and Texaco in Blennerville were both charging €1.30.9.

Looking at the prices nationally, Tralee is one of the cheapest places to get petrol, but the least expensive is in Templeglantine on the Kerry Limerick border with a price of €1.22.9.

Not surprisingly a petrol station in Dublin clocks in the highest at 165.9.

The good news for consumers is that prices are forecasted to fall further in the near future.
