McLoughlin has been capped for Ireland U18’s and was on a two year scholarship at Ipswich after joining the East Anglian club in July 2013. That scholarship was extended for the 2015-16 season.

The highlight for him so far while at the club was helping Ipswich to win a FA Youths Cup last season. Now Shane has a lot more to look forward to

Just last month, the Castleisland native was named in the ‘Tractor Boys’ squad for their FA Cup third-round replay against Portsmouth.

McLoughlin has been capped for Ireland U18’s and is currently on a scholarship at Ipswich.

He joined the club from St Brendan’s Park in July 2013, signing a two-year scholarship with Ipswich. In April 2015, that scholarship was extended for the 2015-16 season.

The highlight for him so far while at the east of England club was helping Ipswich to win a FA Youths Cup last season.

Currently, Ipswich are lying in 10th place, seven points adrift of the play-off places, but with McCarthy’s record anything is possible for the Suffolk side.

FORMER Park FC player, Shane McLoughlin, was named in Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich squad for last night’s FA Cup third-round replay against Portsmouth.

The 18-year-old from Castleisland didn’t get chance to make his first team debut in the 2-1 defeat, but his inclusion as a sub for the Championship side represents a significant milestone in his career and increases hopes he’ll be offered a professional contract with the club.

The forward has netted four times in 23 appearances for the clubs U21 side while at U18 level. McLoughlin’s record is a very impressive – 14 in 30 games.

Currently, Ipswich are just outside the Premier League play-off spots, which is promising given Mick McCarthy’s record at getting teams promoted. Shane could do a lot worse than plough his own furrow with the Tractor Boys.
