The show focussing on Kerry will be broadcast at 8.30pm next Wednesday, January 25. Mary travels to Kerry where she meets Texan Saundra O’Sullivan was a flight nurse on a helicopter when she met Kerry native Tommy O’Sullivan in 2007.

Mary with Tommy & Saundra O’Sullivan (a mover from Texas) at home in Lispole.

They married on March 13th, 2010. Saundra moved from Houston, TX to Lispole on the Dingle peninsula. They opened a pub in Dingle in 2011 on Tommy’s 50th birthday. Mary Kennedy visits the pub for a lively trad session. Tommys two sons live close by.

During the lockdown Tommy and Saundra remodeled his family home which he inherited. They say it’s the oldest house in the village and it’s always been in the family. Saundra likes almost everything about Lispole, the hills and sea, the rugged landscape and gentle rolling hills.

Architectural Technician Declan Sugrue worked in Cork for many years but always wanted to move back home to Cahersiveen to be closer to family and friends.

Mary Kennedy with the Sugrue Family in Cahersiveen.

His wife Louise is also from Cahersiveen. They have two young children. Cost of living was getting higher in the city so the obvious choice was to move back home as the cost of houses was considerably cheaper.

This gave them the opportunity to buy and renovate a townhouse and a few years later build the dream home. Declan saw a need in the area from other SME’s and freelancers that there was no hub for people working from home.

Continued below…

.

He opened the Office Light Hub in the town. Sadly the war in Ukraine has prompted a different type of mover west.

Mary Kennedy visits a school in Cahersiveen where the school population rose by 50% (103 to 150) with new Ukrainian pupils.

Mary has an emotive meeting with some of the students and their teachers. Hrvoje Smolic is a Founder and CEO of Qualia Data Sciences and Graphite Note. He was born in Croatia.

He moved to Killarney in 2018 and founded Qualia Data Sciences. Hrvoje now works out of the RDI Hub in Killorglin.

Rebecca Hoban and Shane Finn are returnees. They are a young couple who have recently formed the company Outwest Clothing in Dingle.

Former Kerry Senior Football physio Aoife Ni Mhuirí moved west from Dublin to Kerry in 1996.  Originally from the Connemara Gaeltacht, she had been to the Kerry Gaeltacht on holidays a couple of summers when she was a child.

“The affinity between the Galway Gaeltacht and the Kerry Gaeltachts definitely helped ease my move,” she said.

Aoife set up a Health Technology company called Salaso Health Solutions based at the Kerry Technology Park in Tralee.

She finds the culture and the winning mentality in the county stemming from the tradition of All-Ireland football success helped her drive her business forward.

Tech worker Corinne Culloty moved from Lismore, Co Waterford to Killarney. Family circumstances prompted the idea of moving, while flexible work arrangements fuelled the decision and made the move a reality. Tomás O’Siocháin talks about what Kerry has to offer to the mover west.

Each week, in this jam-packed series, presenters Eibhlín Ní Chonghaile and Stiofán Ó Fearail of Seo Linn meet a different school from around the country, and tease out exactly what’s going on with the school kids of Ireland.

The school has their work cut out for them as they take on their biggest challenge yet −  producing their own version of a Justin Bieber hit as Gaeilge, with YouTube musical sensation and ‘Cleas Act’ house band Seo Linn’s help.

Along with the kids of the Gaelscoil, one of the pupil’s parents and friend of the school, Darragh Ó Sé, will make a guest appearance to tell us what he was like in school.

When it comes to talent, these children have it in spades. Whether they’re singing, dancing, joke-telling or showcasing crazy sports, their enthusiasm, childish innocence and sense of fun will make viewers nostalgic for their own schooldays.

For guaranteed laughs, fun for all the family and top notch musical performances, tune in to Cleas Act on Sunday evening at 8pm TG4. Scroll down for photos during filming…

THERE’s good news for those who won’t be able to make it to Kerry v Cork in Austin Stack Park on Sunday.

Kerry’s final round match in the Allianz National League throws-in at 2pm and is live on TG4.

Barring a 13 point defeat Kerry are guaranteed a semi-final place.

Cork come in search of another one of those semi places and a big scalp off their neighbours as always.

If you miss live coverage, highlights will be shown on RTE’s League Sunday that evening at 7:30pm along with extended highlights the following night on TG4’s GAA 2016 at  8:30pm.

On the wireless, Radio Kerry, will have live commentary as always.

YOU may have to shut yourself off from the radio/social media for a while on Sunday afternoon, if you don’t want to spoil the Kerry result for your TV viewing.

Delayed coverage of Monaghan v Kerry will have to do as the Connaught derby  has been giving top billing on TG4.

Mayo and Roscommon throws in at 3:30pm so we can expect full coverage of Kerry’s trip to Clones to begin at around 5pm, all going well.

With Kerry hoping for four wins on the trot and gunning for a semi final spot, there should be plenty to chew over as people sit down for their Sunday dinner/Easter eggs.

If you don’t have the patience to hang on for the delayed coverage, Radio Kerry will be broadcasting live as always or go on Twitter for updates.

Then again, you could always head on up to Clones yourself and watch it live. Monaghan v Kerry throws in at 3pm.

A KERRY actress is set to appear in the programme ‘EIPIC’, which will air tonight, February 11, at 10pm on TG4.

Roisin Ní Cheillachair from Dunquin will be the main star of Thursday’s episode which, although contemporary, tells a story that echoes past events as five rural teenagers take over their local post office to start a musical revolution in 2016.

The programme is directed by Louise Ní Fhiannachta from Ventry and will also feature music from local rock heroes Walking On Cars.

It’s a six-part comedy-musical drama series which tells a story about escape, empowerment and what it means to be a teenager ‘hero’ in contemporary rural Ireland set against the backdrop of the 1916 centenary celebrations.

If you would like to watch the first episode, you can catch it here: EIPIC.

“Aly’s been quite the role model really for the year, for everyone. He knows his stuff and it’s a good boost of confidence to be on the same pitch as him,” Ultan says of his teammate and friend.

“Initially taking up rugby we were a bit shy. A neighbour of ours asked us to play with Tralee. My mom decided to bribe myself and my brother a fiver to go down. It was brilliant, it was probably the best fiver that she ever spent really,” he laughed.

“My debut against Leinster was a bit surreal. Thankfully though with Aly there, it was a good boost of confidence,” he finished.

The idea of the show is that the top busking acts in Ireland compete head to head for the title of Ireland’s Top Busker.

Thousands applied and after nationwide auditions 80 were selected to go through to the series.

However, the Tralee boys failed to reach the semi-final despite a great performance of Alabama 3’s ‘Woke Up This Morning’ and lost out to a duo, Therese and Joey.

The judges were split with musician Aindrias De Staic going for the Tralee lads while TV presenter Síle Seoige and Fiachna Ó Braonáin of the Hothouse Flowers both went for the other act.
