Tralee Boxing Club News

Tralee Boxing Club celebrated HER Outdoors Week last week with a free, non contact, ladies only, Boxing On The Beach workshop on Sunday.

There was a great turn out for the event, which took place on Banna beach with perfect weather for an outdoor workout. The gorgeous surroundings helped create a fantastic, inspirational atmosphere as coaches put women and girl boxers through their paces.

The class introduced our beginners to the art of boxing, focusing on skills, movement, speed and fitness. Cooling down with a nice relaxing stretch and meditative body scan, the ladies finished off with a refreshing dip in the ocean.

We were thoroughly blessed to train with a wonderful crew of hard working, courageous, strong women, many of which,  I’m sure, will become regulars in the club.

TBC has undertaken a number of projects throughout the summer to welcome our Ukrainian neighbours to Tralee and into our community. As a result, we have been fortunate enough to gain a whole new team of Ukrainian boxers, young and old who are now regular members of the club.

Last week a group of our Ukrainian boxers presented their coaches with hand designed t-shirts to show their gratitude.

The coaching team would like to thank all the ladies involved for the extremely thoughtful gesture. We greatly appreciate the gift and are honoured to train such good natured, pleasant, dedicated boxers. Дякую, ви всі зірки.

Our project to encourage community integration through boxing is supported by the Communities Integration Fund on behalf of the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth.

Finally, the club is still on the look out for a trainee boxing coach for the upcoming 2022-23 season.

No previous boxing experience is needed as full training will be provided by the club. The successful applicant would ideally have a background in fitness, nutrition or sport and be comfortable and confident training both kids and adults as part of a dedicated coaching team.

The position is paid through the CE scheme, for further details or to apply, please contact Pat on 086 194 2824 or Lynda on 087 766 3406.
