TRALEE Credit Union could be known as something else after their AGM at the Rose Hotel on Monday week.

Tralee Credit Union CEO, Pa Laide.

There is a motion coming up that the name will change to ‘Cara Credit Union’, to reflect the changes which have taken place over the years.

In their Winter Newsletter, Tralee Credit Union CEO Pa Laide said: “‘Tralee Credit Union’ is no longer inclusive of our membership, nor is the name a fair representation of who we are today. The name we propose is ‘Cara Credit Union’.”

The name changing process began last January when a committee was formed and assessed 120 names proposed by board and staff.

Tralee Credit Union has offices in Tralee, Castleisland and Killorglin. It was decided that the name would appeal to everyone irrespective of where they came from, that people could relate to and that was embedded in their ethos and values.

The board will seek approval for the name change at the AGM which takes place on Monday, December 11 at 8pm.

‘Tralee Credit Union’ is no longer inclusive of our membership – LOL.

Is the Credit Union concerned not located in Tralee town centre and was it not inaugurated and supported for decades by primarily a Tralee membership!

Maybe if Tralee Credit Union CEO Pa Laide was Taoiseach he would probably want Ireland to change its name to Caraland because “It was decided that the name would appeal to everyone irrespective of where they came from, that people could relate to and that was embedded in their ethos and values”

‘Cara Credit Union’ is as Insulting, Politically Correct and nonsense as ‘Caraland’.
