Aoibheann O’Brien Tralee Harriers AC in full action in the Senior Long Jump at teh Leevale Senior Open event

Well done to Aoibheann O’Brien who was in action at The Leevale AC Open Sports for Juniors and Seniors on Saturday 6th May. Aoibheann took part in the Long Jump finishing in Second place with a jump of 5.53m just a mere .03cm off Gold. Very close competition indeed.

Clare Fitzgerald was also in action last weekend in the British League in Birmingham. Clare competes with Windsor Harrow Sloughduring her time in the UK. Clare has shaken of the cobwebs of the past few weeks and brought home a silver medal in the Discus with a seasons best throw of 53.10. Well done Clare .

Upcoming events

Tuesday and Thursday majority of clubs Secondary School athletes are competing in the North Munster Schools Championships in Ennis and UL, Best of luck to them all.

Any parents that are willing to help out at training sessions between now and Nationals please see Linda and Paul, we need some more help to get the kids to the best they can be,

Training

There is training on Fridays and Sundays in our training grounds for athletes normally attending Squads, These are important sessions for athletes that are bound for Munster championship U12-U19

At 10am its Throws with Patsy and his helpers

From 11am it’s Sprints, Middle distance, Hurdles and some Long Jumping

Please be aware that there will be some Discus/Hammer taking place and you are all asked to stay away from the centre of the field.

ALL ATHLETES INTENDING ON COMPETING AT UPCOMING MUNSTER CHAMPIONSHIPS SHOULD BE ATTENDING THE FRIDAY AND SUNDAY SESSIONS U12 – U19
