A FIRST look at the latest show featuring Tralee actor Timothy V Murphy has just been released and it looks like fans of all things medieval will be pleased (see video below).
Oakpark native Tim spent much of spring shooting ‘The Bastard Executioner’ in Wales – where filming is still ongoing – which allowed him time to pop home briefly a couple of months ago.
He told us then that his character of a monk doesn’t feature too much initially but his role gets bigger as the storyline progresses.
The show will air from September in the US on the FX channel but we’ll get to see it here soon after.

Created by Kurt Sutter, the man behind the hugely popular ‘Sons Of Anarchy’, The Bastard Executioner tells the story of a warrior knight in King Edward I’s charge who is broken by the ravages of war and vows to lay down his sword.
When that violence finds him again, however, he’s forced to pick up the bloodiest sword of all.
As well as Tim, the series stars newcomer Lee Jones along with Sutter’s wife and Sons of Anarchy star Katey Sagal, True Blood’s Stephen Moyer and guest star Matthew Rhys.
