Daniel Dennehy is a 3x Irish freestyle champion who was raised in Dublin, but who spent three years living here in Kerry with his Kingdom-born father.
With the All-Ireland Final now fast approaching, Daniel was quick to nail his colours to the mast as he proudly displayed his Kerry jersey was while showing off his impressive skills with an O’Neill’s football.
“Today, I’m going back to my families roots in Kerry and see how I get on with an O’Neill’s,” says Daniel in the video.
“My dad actually played minor for Kerry and I grew up in Kerry for three years, so I played Gaelic football back then too. But basically, ever since I was born, every single day, my dad just made sure myself and my brother had a soccer ball or a Gaelic football or a sliotar,” said Daniel when speaking in an article in Red Bull Magazine.
“Up the Kingdom for Sunday!” he declares before booting the ball into the back of the net which just goes to show that while you can take the man out of Kerry, you can never take Kerry out of the man.
Here’s hoping that we’re not in desperate need of any of his skills this coming weekend.
