INSTEAD of taxis and other vehicles driving through The Mall on Saturday, shoppers got a view of a very different mode of transport.

Mark Leen acted as MC for the event – and sang a few tunes as well – as contestants rocked and rolled down the Mall.
Kerry Dáil deputies Martin Ferris and Michael Healy Rae were joined by councillors John Brassil, Sam Locke, Graham Spring as well as many other locals during the fun event.
Shoppers looked on in amusement as a number of heats – filled with craic and roguery – took place to determine the champion.
In the end, it was Paul Keane of Moriarty Civil Engineering who was the winner after beating Colm O’Brien from Aspen Grove.
His achievements were overshadowed by some shenanigans by the politicians however, as John Brassil played fast and loose with the rules while Michael Healy Rae gave Martin Ferris a boost in one of the races (click here for previous story).
