THE parish of Ballymac descended on Ballygarry House Hotel on Saturday night for the local GAA Club’s second ‘Strictly Love Dancing’ event.
A sellout crowd of around 700 people were entertained by the slick dance moves of the 12 couples – put through their paces over the past number of weeks by Honor Hurley – who gave their all to impress the judges.
The couples taking part were Jennifer Flaherty and Jeremiah Lynch; Maeve Rahilly and Mossie Leen; Linda Gleeson and Brendan Falvey; Noelle O’Brien and Declan O’Connell; Angela Lenihan and Thomas Daly; Nicole McEllistrim and Tomás O’Connor; Zelda Boyle and Dave Long; Ita O’Brien and Derek O’Brien; Karolina Tangney and Eanna Reidy; Nora Curran and James Sugrue; Fiona Cahill and Stephen Bermingham and Ann Marie Nelligan and Vincent Horan.

Andrew Morrissey of Radio Kerry was the expert MC for the occasion who introduced all the routines and the judges were Tim Moynihan of Radio Kerry/Garvey’s Supervalu, former Rose of Tralee Maria Walsh, dancing expert Mary Philpott and musician Dave Allman.
They had a tough job but in the end they chose Nicole McEllistrim and Tomás O’Connor as the overall winners. The public vote though went to Zelda Boyle and Dave Long.
A fantastic night then and thousands raised for the club. Scroll down for a video of the opening dance of the night and loads of photos below (we’ll have loads more photos later)…
