Warning Of Email Scam After Kerry Woman Conned Out Of €2,000

GARDAI in Kerry are warning the public about an email phishing scam after a woman in the county was conned out of €2,000.

The email purports to be from telecommunications company Eir contacting customers to inform them they are due a refund on their bill.

They direct customers to a website where people can key in their bank account details to claim back the money.

However, it’s a scam and the thieves then drain money from the accounts. Gardai say one woman in the county has been caught by the scammers to the tune of €2,000.

The email address is myeire@vxsbill.com and gardai are asking people who receive emails from this address to ignore and delete them.
