The greenway will run along the coastline from Cockleshell Road to Spa village.
WORK on the Cockleshell Road to Spa Greenway is now anticipated to begin next year and not before the end of this year as expected.
Fianna Fáil Cllr Johnnie Wall asked for an update on the project at the November meeting of the Tralee Municipal District of Kerry County Council.
Council management said representatives of Kerry County Council are currently engaging with landowners with the view of acquiring the necessary lands.

It is anticipated that works will commence in 2023, however, this is dependent on securing the necessary lands.
It was previously expected that the workers on the Tralee-Fenit Greenway would move on to the 2.2km Cockleshell-Spa project once that was completed last month.
The pathway once completed will link up with the Tralee Fenit Greenway at the Spa where there will be upgrade works at the village junction to create a Toucan crossing.
