Workshops At Tralee Library For Bealtaine Festival

A SERIES of workshops in creative writing, painting, drawing and fieldwork is coming to libraries around Kerry as part of the Bealtaine Festival.

Kerry County Council in association with Kerry Libraries and co-funded by the Arts Council is organising the events.

Kate Kennelly, Arts Officer, says; “These workshops are run by highly skilled, professional artists and will provide great learning opportunities to people over 55 interested in expressing themselves creatively.”

Tina Reed will give workshops in oil painting using the palette knife at Killarney Library (11 and 18 May), Roisin McGuigan will give workshops in watercolours at Listowel Library (12 and 19 May) and Tralee Library (6 and 13 May) and Jeanette Cullen will give painting workshops in Caherciveen Library (11 and 18 May).

Bríd Ní Mhóráin will give poetry writing workshops in Dingle Library and can accommodate both Irish and English language poetry (19 and 26 May). Barbara Lovric will give creative writing workshops in Killorglin Library (9 and 16 May).

Martyn Bell will give felt-making workshops in Castleisland Library (10 and 17 May). Places are free but limited; please contact the libraries for further details.

Access Cinema will also screen the classic film “12 Angry Men” at Killarney Library on the 16th May (6.30pm) and at Caherciveen Library on the 25th May (6pm).
