BOYLES Stove Centre is a family run business and we’ve been operating in Tralee for over 15 years now.

We are experts in our area – selling and installing all types of home fires and are seen as a leading dealer of high quality stoves in Kerry and Cork.

Our commitment to customer service and pride in our work is well known. We are continuing to evolve to meet changes in taste and building regulations and our newest addition are BEV fires – automatic bioethanol fires, no harmful emissions, no chimney required.

Customers today require a ‘start to finish’ solution which provides the fire but also the installation, the fireplace, and any interior design queries for your room, and the after sales service which is often neglected.

We have developed a ‘One Stop Shop’ solution for your project and pride ourselves in offering this high level of service.

We provide a free consultation and free survey in your home where required. We believe it’s important to get it right from the very start and therefore no detail is missed in survey at your home. Every chimney is unique in some way, if it is not viewed beforehand what is being missed.

Our staff have been with us since the start and we pride ourselves that this is the sign of a good company – from Lesley – Operations Manager to Aidan our Head Fitter, owner Jonathan and all those who have grown with the company.

We are grateful to have the long term staff that will provide you with decades of experience and knowledge.

Our main showroom is located just outside Tralee at Laharn on the Listowel Road. Our extensive display can be viewed 6 days a week.  Our Cork showroom is located in the Botanic Home and Garden Centre Retail Park in Carrigtwohill Cork.

Why don’t you call in to discuss your dream fire with us and we will help you turn your vision into reality.

€10,000 Kerry Film Bursary Awarded To Donal Dineen And James Kelly

.
James Kelly and Donal Dineen have won the 2023 Kerry Film Bursary.

THE 2023 Kerry Short Film Bursary of €10,000 has been awarded to Writer/Director, Dónal Dineen, and James Kelly of Feenish Productions for the short film “Save the Last Dance”.

This is the first year a documentary film has won the bursary with the interviewing panel particularly impressed with the ambitious approach of the team.

While Writer/Director Dineen is accomplished in other creative areas, this is a move into filmmaking that the panel was delighted to support. “Save the Last Dance” will explore Dónal’s relationship with his father through the prism of music, a passion that has featured strongly in both their lives.

The short film goes into production later this summer and will screen at the Kerry International Film Festival in 2024.

The Bursary is funded by Kerry County Council & the Arts Council of Ireland in order to support filmmakers to make work in the county.

Kate Kennelly, Arts Officer, emphasised that the Bursary “gives filmmakers the opportunity to enhance their skills while shooting in Kerry.”

Kerry College Monavalley Campus, a centre of excellence for film skills training, will provide support to the production.

Dineen is delighted to get the opportunity to make this film in his home county and believes the time is right to make it now. Music has been a guiding force in his life and career to date, yet the local traditional music of Sliabh Luachra, much loved by his late father, was easily dismissed by him in his youth. In more recent years, he has come to realise the power this music holds.

Producer, James Kelly, is looking forward to working with Dónal to bring this short film to the screen. James has experience working in the creative documentary space having produced a number of arts documentaries.

His company has also produced a range of music videos including ones for the Rubber Bandits, Lisa Hannigan & Mary Coughlan.

Both of the team are relishing the challenge ahead and describe winning the bursary as “a real honour”.

Kerry ETB Film Development Officer, Siobhan O’Sullivan is delighted to have a project of this ambition funded in Kerry. She outlined how “this bursary is intended to support filmmakers in finding their voice. This is a great example of a story that has the potential to be told in a fresh, innovative and exciting way.”

RIAN Tuohy was announced as the winner of the Scoil Eoin School Spirit Award for 2023.

The award was devised by the Student Council along with Principal Kieran O’Toole in 2016. This award is not academic award, rather an award in recognition of a pupil who promotes inclusiveness and fairness, is a good role model and displays exemplary behaviour.

Each teacher nominates a pupil from their class. All nominations are sent to Student Council coordinator Mrs. Carol Anne O’Donoghue who meets with the Student Council members to go through the nominations.

Paddy Garvey praised the Art Group who have developed a wonderful relationship with Baile Mhuire over the past seven years.

A number of clients take part in art practice guided and helped by volunteers from TAG. This is a great way for the clients to reconnect with and develop their creativity and is inspirational for the volunteers.

Jane Deasy said Baile Mhuire has provided them with a home for their monthly meetings, workshops and exhibitions. She said it was a pleasure and an uplifting experience for members to connect with the clients at Baile Mhuire.

Jane has one of her own paintings on display which was inspired by a family from Ukraine who came to Tralee last May seeking refuge from the war.
