Paddy Garvey praised the Art Group who have developed a wonderful relationship with Baile Mhuire over the past seven years.
A number of clients take part in art practice guided and helped by volunteers from TAG. This is a great way for the clients to reconnect with and develop their creativity and is inspirational for the volunteers.
Jane Deasy said Baile Mhuire has provided them with a home for their monthly meetings, workshops and exhibitions. She said it was a pleasure and an uplifting experience for members to connect with the clients at Baile Mhuire.
Jane has one of her own paintings on display which was inspired by a family from Ukraine who came to Tralee last May seeking refuge from the war.
Jane became friends with Daria Telcharova who showed her a photo taken a few years ago of her family on the banks of the Dnipro in Kyiv. Jane painted the image which hangs in Baile Mhuire with the tagline ‘Thinking of you, Kyiv’. The exhibition will run until December. Scroll down for photos…
