THE amount of people signing on the live register in Tralee rose in January for a second consecutive month.

The number of people claiming unemployment benefit in the Tralee area is now 5,186. Though there has been slight climb of people unemployed, the figure is 458 less than January 2015.

The total across the county in Kerry’s seven social welfare offices is 12,725. In Killarney, 2,316 are signing on and in the Listowel the figure is just under 2,300.
