Presentation of prizes will take place in Austin Stacks Clubhouse in Connolly Park on the same evening at 9pm followed by a raffle for valuable spot prizes and light entertainment.

The golf classic forms an essential part of the annual fundraising events at the club, and allows us field over 20 teams each week, ranging from juvenile up to adult in Gaelic Football, Hurling and Ladies Football.

Your support/sponsorship for this event would be greatly appreciated.  As we write there are still a few places left but they are running out fast. To reserve your tee -time who may call or text Nial on 087 2801634.

SENIOR FOOTBALL: Round 2 of the Co. League goes ahead at the week-end. We are away to NaGaeil on Sunday (24th March) at 2pm.

B FOOTBALL; After their big win in the opening round our B team are also on Co. League duty on Sunday next with a home game against Beaufort. This game throws-in at 12 noon.

MINOR FOOTBALL: Austin Stacks 1-17; Dr. Crokes 1-7.

In a weather-beaten Connolly Park our Minors chalked up their second win in this their 3rd game of the Co. League on last Saturday afternoon (16th March). Crokes, aided by a very strong wind, opened the scoring inside the second minute.

It took us awhile to come to grips with the unfavourable elements but once we opened our account with a pointed free by Seán Quilter in the 13th minute followed quickly by a Conor Myers one from play and another from play by Seán we took complete control for the rest of the half.

The clincher then came in the 20th minute when Conor was at the end of another slick move by our lads to hit the roof of the net from a tight angle.

Between then and half time we added a further five points – two each from Conor Myers and Sean Quilter and the fifth by Shane Bastible. In the meantime the visitors could only add two more to their earlier opener to leave us with eight points to spare at the break (1-8 to 0-3).

Inside two minutes after the resumption we went further ahead with three well-taken points – Seán Quilter again on target with two and the other from Jordan Kissane.

Then in the next seven minutes both sides had two points each – ours coming from Conor Myers and Adam Curran. Two more points by Conor Myers and Sean Quilter left us with a whopping twelve points to spare (1-15 to 0-6) with ten minutes of normal time remaining.

Crokes did get through for a goal a minute later but it was too little too late for the Killarney boys who added one more point before full time.

We finished off a very good performance with two super points from distance by Dara Barry Walsh from play and by Seán Quilter from a free on the stroke of full time to cap a man-of-the-match performance by Seán who was unerring with his eight points during the hour from all angles and against a strong swirling wind all through.

Not far behind was Conor Myers with 1-5 but the support play by all our other players contributed in no small way to this victory which now has us on the top of League table, although some outstanding games have yet to be played.
