SPA NS hosted their annual sports day and Ice Cream Party on Friday and the day ran like clockwork with children enjoying a wide variety of fun and games in the splendid sunshine.
In the afternoon, the Parents Association hosted an Ice Cream Party where everyone go to sample some tasty treats.
All of the students contributed and a cheque for €380 was presented to Kerry Down Syndrome Association. The students and staff also celebrated the receipt of three national awards on the day. Spa N.S. was delighted to receive another Health Promotion Award.

This is the 10th year that the school has been a Health Promotion School. The school was also accepting the renewal of its Discover Science Award from the Science Foundation of Ireland.
Spa N.S. has been an annual recipient of the this award since 2005. It was also celebrating the GAA 5 Star School of Excellence Award.
This year is the first year of this initiative rolled out by Croke Park which commends schools for their promotion of Gaelic Games.
Spa N.S. was delighted to be one of 20 schools in Kerry to receive this award in the first year. All in all a very busy day in Spa but they certainly aim to keep the flags flying there! Scroll down for photos…
