Parnells Family Fun Fair Fri 27th:
Please join us for our end-of-season FAMILY FUN-draiser, Fri Sep 27, 6-8PM, Caherslee. Activities will include: space-hopper racing, tug o’ war, egg ‘n’ spoon , 3-legged racing, welly tossing, poc fada, cross-bar challenge. There will be no prizes, just bragging rights and a laugh. €5pp will get you a wristband to take part in all activities, €25 max per family. There will be a hospitality area: donations of home-baking for our bake sale would be much-appreciated. Some special guests and their silverware will also be on hand to make our final Split-The-Bucket draw of the season. Money raised will help fund our Club-Schools Link, our Youth Coaches Programme and our Coach-the-Coaches Programme in 2020. Pairnéalaigh Abú!
Under 14 Hurling:
Our U14s qualified for South Kerry Championship Final next Saturday with a come from behind win against Causeway. Down 1-2 to 0-4 at halftime, the boys knuckled down and combined well to get some great second half scored. Final score Parnells 1-7 Causeway 1-4. That result meant Parnells are through to Div 1 Final.
County Under 21 Hurling:
In a wet and windy Caherslee Parnells and Ardfert played out a reasonably close first quarter, but it was the visitors who took the scores late in the first half that had them leading well at the interval. The second half brought no respite for a Tralee Parnells squad in their first under 21 season and with an age profile more biased to the younger ages. St. Brendan’s ran out deserving winners, but the vital first step of launching an under 21 presence in 2019, will hopefully begin to bear more fruit in the coming seasons as this young crew grow in age and experience.
Under 14 Camogie:
Good luck to Tralee Parnells Under 14s taking on Killarney in the B County Final Sunday versus Killarney.
Minor Camogie County League:
After previously giving a good account of themselves for novices against Causeway, this Monday it was the turn of CillArd to form the opposition to Tralee Parnells Camogie Minors in Kilmoyley.
This was a continuation of the long-awaited and much-needed inaugural U18 County League.
Extending a pattern observable in the previous game, our townies clearly had plenty to learn from the more seasoned North Kerry players with their county experience and strong tradition. However, the visiting players did not lack for effort or commitment and gave a good account of themselves. As the second half wore on, it was Tralee Parnells that seemed to bring more energy to each tussle and their efforts were rewarded by some well taken points. Following the game the CillArd and county observers who witnessed the encounter, credited the progress and development in evidence in the players representing our young club. We are sure this first season will stand to these players, who are blazing a trail for all the younger teams following behind them.
Camogie Under 16 County League:
On Tuesday Tralee Parnells face CillArd in the 3rd round of the inaugural Under 16 Camogie County League. Then on Sunday the 28th we look forward to the Under 16 Camogie County A and B Finals.
