THE past few months have been tough for everyone in terms of staying at home and not socialising, but with hotels, restaurants and some bars reopening, people are beginning to venture out and have fun.

Well The Rose Hotel, which reopened on Monday, are offering a special incentive to visit them this Saturday by organising a special event embracing the American heritage of owner Dick Henggeler (who is married to Killarney native Eibhlín) to mark Independence Day.

Festivities begin at 11am with the raising of the American flag ceremony by US Military Veterans with Mark Sullivan, General Manager. From 1pm-3pm they will have live music from The Rose Hotel float as you arrive for lunch.

Their 4th of July menu will include some delicious food in honour of the day with Executive Chef Odran Lucey’s menu created to tantalise and tickle your taste buds.

Chili dogs and beef brisket tacos are on the menu this Saturday in Dott’s Bar.

Included on the menu is finger-licking Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Waffles with Maple Glaze, mouth-watering Beef Brisket Tacos served with chunky Tomato Salsa & Avocado, or something a little healthier Citrus Glazed Shrimp Skewers with Peach Salad.

Of course any American-themed meal would not be complete without a traditional Mississippi Mud Pie with generous helpings of Chocolate Sauce and Ice Cream.

The menu will run in Dott’s Bar, The Rose Hotel’s own slice of Manhattan chic, this Saturday, so head along to join in the celebrations.

Reservations are not necessary, but you can book by calling 066 7199100. The hotel is adhering to 2 metre social distancing in our bar and restaurants, so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the atmosphere while staff ensure the safety of guests and colleagues is at the heart of everything they do.
